Erp Failure Stories
ERP is often a confusing terminology but to put it in simple terms: ERP is an acronym meaning Enterprise Resource Planning. It is a software package and solution most often used by manufacturing companies. ERP is a business tool that management uses to for planning and operating throughout the business day-in and day-out. It is usually comprised of several modules such as an accounting module, a distribution module, or a production module. Each of these modules share information that is housed within the database structures on which the ERP system was coded. What can ERP do" ERP is a great help for breaking down barriers between departments within a company. For example, many times the sales department may be selling 25% more product than the production department can produce. By utilizing an ERP system, the sales department, production department, operations management, shipping, financial department, purchasing department all have access to the up-to-date information that is needed to operate smoothly and reduce the chance of failure within any manufacturing environment.
Effective systems are highly predictable and dependable. This is a good thing. That means they tend to work consistently and are quite stable. This is essential for estimating what may or may not happen in the future. It is also valuable for the effective operating of complex functions such as those associated with airplanes and computer systems, wealth building and in creating a state of conservation and balance in each person's life..
The down side of this consistency is that many or most of the parts of a stable system may be so tightly interconnected that they resist change.
This resistance creates stress and dysfunction - leading to Erp Failure Stories. This will keep changes if needed from moving the process forward. Everything in life, after all, involves change and transformation. Whether or not I choose transformation, everything is transformed by time: It is for this reason that there is no benefit in trying to change, thinking about how you will change, or resisting change. Change just happens. If you sat in one spot and did nothing, you would change anyway. From the moment you began reading this sentence to the end of this sentence, you have changed. There is a freedom that comes with the knowledge that everything must change, nothing remains the same. The old becomes the new and it is old before you even realize that it was new. When ERP is used effectively the company and all of it's employees benefit.
